Privacy Policy

A clear, consent-first overview of what 30SN collects, why, and how you stay in control.

Effective: 2026-05-19 Version: 2026-05-19
Read Terms

30SN is designed to be calm, source-first, and privacy-aware. Most preferences are stored on your device. Some optional features send anonymized or aggregated signals to improve ranking, reliability, recommendations, and safe ad matching.

1. Your Control

  • On first launch, you can choose Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Customize preferences.
  • You can fine-tune categories later in Settings → Privacy Center.
  • You can clear local data, reset recommendations, or turn off notifications at any time.

2. Data Categories (Consent-Based)

30SN uses separate toggles so you can enable only what you need:

  • Essential functionality: required to run the app and remember your consent choice.
  • Saved interests & favourites: topics, watchlist, favourites, and saved stories stored on this device.
  • Personalization: uses your topics, saved items, and watchlist to prioritize the Signal feed.
  • Watch & listen history: stores read/listen activity on this device to improve “Most read”.
  • Anonymous analytics: aggregated engagement (views, plays, searches, bookmarks, channel opens, ad clicks) used to improve stability and ranking.
  • Ad personalization: matches ads to broad, non-sensitive groups such as business, technology, student, sports, or health readers.
  • Location-based feed: country/region/place focus to prioritize local stories and channels.
  • Reminders & alerts: live-channel reminders and message alerts (permission is requested only when enabled).
  • Language preferences: playback language, subtitles, and translation preferences stored on this device.

3. What We Collect

  • On-device preferences: topic selection, watchlist, favourites, location focus, language and subtitle preferences.
  • On-device usage counters (optional): read/listen metrics stored locally for “Most read”.
  • Anonymous analytics (optional): event name, timestamp, category, region if available, language, device type, and anonymous session ID.
  • Personal info you provide (optional): if you type a name/email in Settings, it’s stored locally. If you submit the Lead Desk form, contact fields you provide (name, email, phone, company, job title, country) are stored on the 30SN server for that workflow.

4. Anonymous Analytics (Aggregated Model)

When enabled, 30SN uses simple engagement signals to understand what’s useful and what needs improvement. The goal is product quality, not identity tracking.

  • Examples: trending categories, most searched topics, engagement by language, popular regions, and broad audience segments.
  • Analytics events do not include real name, email, phone number, or private account identity.
  • We do not provide businesses with direct user identity.

5. Safe Ad Targeting

If Ad personalization is enabled, 30SN can match ads to broad reading interests. For example, business readers may see finance or startup ads, while Student Mode readers may see education or productivity ads. We do not target using sensitive traits or private identity.

6. Business Insights (B2B-Safe)

If 30SN offers an Insights product in the future, it is intended to remain aggregated and anonymized. Businesses receive trends like “technology interest is up in Asia”, not individual profiles. 30SN does not sell private personal data.

7. Notifications and Permissions

Reminders and alerts require browser permission. 30SN only prompts for this permission if you enable Reminders & alerts in Privacy Center.

8. Third-Party Sources

30SN links to publisher sources and may open third-party sites or video players. When you open external sources, their own privacy policies and terms apply.

9. Lead Desk (Optional Contact Opt-In)

30SN includes an optional Lead Desk workflow for opt-in contacts. If you submit details (name, email, phone, company), the form records your consent and preferences. You can unsubscribe or request deletion from the Lead Desk page.

10. Retention

  • On-device data stays in your browser storage until you clear it, reset preferences, or disable a category.
  • Aggregated analytics may be retained for product performance analysis, audience trend reporting, and safe ad measurement.
  • Lead Desk records are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, with minimal suppression logs to prevent re-contact.

11. Security

We apply reasonable technical controls and minimize what is stored. No system is perfectly secure, but 30SN is built to avoid unnecessary personal data collection by default.

12. Contact / Privacy Requests

For privacy questions, use the Lead Desk “Data requests” form. For hosted deployments, add your support contact details here.

This is a product policy template. Review with legal counsel for your jurisdiction and business setup.
